Melrose Area Schools Dutchmen Trap Team shot at the championships on Monday and did great! We qualified for the MSHSL Championship and will be taking a team of seven down for this. Here are some season highlights:
We had many 25 straight shots this year, several 50 straight and even a couple 75 straight!
We took first place as a team at the Anvil tournament in May with a 480 out of 500 where Morgan Housman took 1st and Ben Feldewerd took 2nd in their respective divisions.
We had a squad of 10 shoot the Deltone 100 tournament on June 10, 2023. As a team we took 8th Place of 14 teams. https://deltonemn.com
During regular season, our team finished first in class 8A Conference 1. In Male Varsity, we had a podium sweep, with Jack Ellering taking 1st, Trevor Thom taking 2nd, and Jake Feldewerd taking 3rd. At the Championship shoot in Alex on Monday, Ian Funk tied for 7th Varsity Male with a 98 out of 100. As a team, we tied for 4th out of 20 on the day with a 478. This score placed us 27th overall. This is 27th against ALL 343 teams in the entire state. This also Qualfied our 5 top shooters for the MSHSL shoot in Prior Lake on Friday. http://mn.traptournament.com/ The scores we qualified with are

Due to prior commitments, Dan Frericks and Turner Beuning are unable to make it to the tournament, so Zach Coenen - 93 & Marshall Dufner - 93 will be taking their place. Alternates will be Jayden Coenen and Jack Ellering.
Jack Ellering, Trevor Thom, and Jake Feldewerd also qualified for this tournament as individuals.
