Congratulations to Camilla McCormick, who earned a $500 Scholarship for her 12th place finish in the High School Girls division at the Minnesota National Archery in the Schools (NASP) State Tournament. Camilla, a junior at Melrose Area High School, competed against 333 other high school girls at the tournament on March 23 at the DEC in Rochester.
Camilla joined Archery in 5th grade and has recorded success in practice and at tournaments in her archery career. This year, Camilla placed in the top three at each archery tournament in the region and recorded a perfect round at the 10 meter distance in the Alexandria meet. At the State Tournament, she finished with a final score of 284.
Camilla credits working hard at practice, visualizing successful rounds the night before a tournament, as well as positive and focused thinking at the tournaments to her success.
When sheās not participating in archery, Camilla is involved in Band, Cross Country, Track & Field.
Way to go, Camilla!
