Melrose Area High School Artists had a strong showing at the Region 5A Visual Arts Competition this week.
Fifteen individual artists showcased 18 artworks, varying in mediums. Sixteen of the artists' pieces were judged "superior."
Hallie Drossel's mixed media collage titled, "Looking Back," won Best in Mixed Media.
Yasli Jimenez's drawing titled, "Celia Xakriaba," won Best in Drawing.
Yasli's piece also won the top award given, Best in Show.
Yasli will compete with all of the other region winners at the State Visual Arts competition on May 11th in Golden Valley!

All of these artworks, along with many other great pieces, have been on display in the High School Media Center, for the Festival of Arts.
