Melrose Area Schools' Trap Team shot at the Alexandria Tournament on Monday, June 17, 2024. Of 20 teams, the Dutchmen earned fourth place. We have some GREAT shooters on our team. According to Coach Cory Ellering, the team had all the right stuff to pull off an excellent day, and they put it together at the perfect time, shooting very well in the tournament!
Dutchmen Team score was 479 out of 500 (only 21 missed targets)!
Currently, the Dutchmen are in 14th place overall, out of 350+ teams across Minnesota. Today is the last day of the Alexandria Tournament, and we hope to finish in the top 20. This would be quite an achievement! We are hoping our Dutchmen qualify for the MSHSL state shoot in Prior lake on Friday! If we do, we are State Bound! The five top shooters and two alternates would represent our team at the State Tournament.
