Congratulations to Katie Masog, Melrose Area Schools' Head Gymnastics Coach!
Katie, who became the Melrose Area Gymnastics Head Coach in 2009, recently celebrated her fifteenth year as Head Coach.
Under Coach Katie's leadership, Melrose Area School has been represented at the State Gymnastics Meet every year for the 15 years she has been Head Coach.
Claiming the title of Team State Champions were our 2011-12 and 2013-14 Gymnastics Teams.
Individual State Champions coached by Katie Masog include:
Hailey Brinkman - 2011-12 State Uneven Bars Champion, Balance Beam Champion, Floor Champion, All Around Champion, All State Elite
Jailyn Brinkman - 2013-14 State Uneven Bars Champion, All State Elite
Mady Brinkman - 2016-17 State Uneven Bars Champion, All State Elite
Greta Klaphake - 2017-18 State Vault Champion
Over the years, numerous individuals have benefitted from Coach Katie and have had the opportunity to participate at the State level, competing against the best. The four girls who participated at the Individual State Gymnastics Tournament this year were Maria Hinnenkamp, Josie Eveslage, Celia Schoenberg, and Gabby Schoenberg.
In 2024-25 Gymnastics Season, our team claimed WCC Championship. At Sections, our Gymnastics Team won Section Runners Up. Additionally, Katie was named Section 8A Section Coach of the Year!
At the 2024-25 State Gymnastics Meet, Katie won the Class A Coach of the Year.
We are grateful to Coach Katie for sharing her time and talents. Katie's passion and leadership have contributed to the continued success of our program. We are so proud of Katie Masog!
