Superintendent Update 5/26/2020
The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) did release some new guidance for schools to offer summer school this past week. We will be exploring the possibilities this new guidance offers. Along with summer school, we may also be able to offer community education programs this summer. The planning for any type of summer school or community education programs will be shared out once these plans have been developed. Please watch our website for any updates on these programs.
It has been a common theme in these messages to attempt to reach out to those families that have struggled over the course of the pandemic. We would ask these parents and students to continue the schoolwork needed in order to be ready for next fall. Teachers in grades K-8 will be reaching out to these families and students over the course of the next week to make sure they are caught up and ready for next fall. High School teachers will also be making an extra effort to make sure their students have completed what is needed to bring closure to their classes. As stated in the earlier paragraph, we will be offering opportunities for some of these students to get caught up after the end of the school year.
Our auditorium project is moving forward. The old seats were taken out last Friday. We had posted a message on our website if anyone is interested in purchasing an old seat for sentimental reasons. There still are a few available if you're interested. Contact Jonathan Ruoff if you're interested.
Graduation plans have been finalized. The information has been sent out to students and parents. We are hopeful for good weather this Friday (5/29). If it does rain the activities will take place on Saturday (5/30) at 1 p.m. If it rains on Saturday, it will be held on Sunday (5/31) at 1 p.m.
