Superintendent Update 1/4/2021

The current number along with the daily numbers in Stearns County have overall been trending downward since the peak in late November. The number this past week is 67.79.  The daily count of positive cases in Stearns County had been trending down but now the numbers have come up again.

The dashboard will be up again next week with updated numbers from this week.

If you recall before the break, Governor Walz had stated that he wanted all elementary students back to school by January 18th. This does not impact our school because we have been very fortunate to have our elementary students in school this year.  With our middle school and high school coming back to the hybrid learning model on January 11, our next step would be to bring back all of our students every day. Certainly, this is something that most parents and students would want as quickly as possible. We will pursue the in-person model for all students as quickly and as safely as we possibly can.

As a school district, we will continue to take the additional steps needed in our district as students start back in different learning models.  The opportunity for COVID-19 testing will be administered on a bi-weekly basis to staff.  We will also be getting some additional PPE this week to distribute to staff.

Activities will be starting up today,  Monday, January 4th. Go to westcentralconference.com for start dates for practices and scheduled events.   An email has been sent to every parent and student to register for winter sports.

If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact me or any of the building principals.
