For his Exploring the Environment Class, Christopher Montanez Rodriguez decided to collect hats and mittens for the Melrose Elementary students. He advertised throughout the school and made collection boxes and placed them in the H.S. Library. On November 1st he collected the boxes and counted how many hats and mittens were donated for each grade. 10th graders gave the most, with Seniors being second, Juniors third, and 9th graders fourth. He recently presented the box of 515 hats and mittens to Elementary Principal, Ms. Pearson. There is no doubt that this will help the younger children keep their hands and heads warm when they go outside!
