Congratulations to Grant Hellermann and Ellie Heller - this year's Melrose Area High School recipients of the EXCEL Award. This award honors juniors throughout the state who participate in Minnesota High School League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.
Grant is the son of Randy and Cheryl Hellermann. He is involved in Musical, Baseball, Knowledge Bowl, Band, National Honor Society, and Student Council. He has volunteered with his church's youth group, food shelf collection, and helped with little league baseball games.
Ellie is the daughter of Dr. Pat and Juliann Heller. She is involved in Swimming, Basketball, Softball, Speech, Band, Knowledge Bowl, National Honor Society, and Student Council. She has volunteered with her church's youth group, Adopt a Highway, and the after-school backpack program.
