It appears that we have hit the peak in general in the State of Minnesota. In the latest information posted at the jwolfin site for the first time since January 6 the number of cases reported has decreased. We have also seen a substantial decrease in our district. We were told in a health care call the testing positivity rate has also gone down substantially but still remains at a very high level. We will continue to monitor this trend to see if it represents a substantial decrease as projected.
Please continue to do anything that you can to slow the spread of this latest variant. This continues to be very beneficial to our health organizations and for those needing health services not related to the pandemic.
A couple of other reminders:
If you are not aware there is a site to order free at-home COVID tests. The website is https://www.covidtests.gov/ It may take a week or two to receive the tests. All information needed is on this website.
We are also being told that KN95 masks will soon be available at your local pharmacy. As of now CVS and Walgreens will be some pharmacies distributing the masks. We are also expecting as a school district to receive some KN95 masks during the week of February 14. We will be able to distribute these to 6-12 students and staff.
February 25, 2022, will be an E-Learning Day.
Also, please note a “draft” of the 2022-2023 school calendar has been posted on our website. This draft can be found by going to the menu and noting it is listed under district information. We have made some subtle changes to the calendar. This final draft of the calendar will go to the School Board at the February 28 meeting.
