Mikayla Curry is this year’s Minnesota nominee for the NFHS Outstanding Speech/Debate Educator Award. A committee made up of members of the MSHSL Speech Advisory Committee highly recommended Mikalya for the award!
The National Federation of State High School Associations annually recognizes outstanding high school speech, debate, or theatre educators, supervisors, and adjudicators. One educator can be nominated by each state for this honor. Nominees must exemplify the highest standards of ethical conduct and carry the endorsement of their respective state high school association. An NFHS awards committee reviews these nominations and selects regional award winners. Criteria for evaluation include:
- Overall contributions
- Service both to curricular and co-curricular activities
- Organization and continuance of an activity program
- Significant and ongoing contribution to the field
- Contributions to the profession both in and out of the state
CONGRATULATIONS MS. CURRY!
