
It's National Education Week. Our staff and school board at Melrose Area Public Schools are dedicated to the children in our district!




Senior football player, Brent Feldewerd, was selected as a member of the North All Star Team. Brent was a four-year starter for the Melrose Dutchmen. Brent will play at noon on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at US Bank Stadium. Congratulations Brent!


Members of Leedstone and the Melrose Rosettes assisted the Food for Thought team in packing bags on November 17. Over 800 bags were packed and a good time was had by all. Food for Thought provides food for students on the weekends!

The Knowledge Bowl meet was at Buffalo last night. 7/8 grade teams place 4th and 5th. The 5/6 teams place 7th and 8th. Both meets had 30 teams. We had a 5/6 team and a 7/8 team win the Written Round Challenge and also received ribbons for that! Photos include 7/8 grade 5th place team: Terry Clinton, Andrue Stalboerger, Logan Kelzer and Mathew Stalboerger and 7/8 4th place team and Written Round Champs: Austin Bjostad, Ramona Lurken Tvrdik, Eric Sunderman and Jackson Frieler.

Congratulations to the Girls Swimming and Diving team on a third place finish at the Section 6A Swimming and Diving meet this weekend. Qualifying for the State meet included the Section Champion 200 Medley Relay team of Makayla Zirbes, Hallie Drossel, Paige Gruber, and Bella Nathe. Hallie Drossel was Section Champion and set a new Melrose School Record in the 200 Individual Medley. Hallie also was the Section Champion and set a new University of Minnesota-Morris Pool record in the 100 Breaststroke. Paige Gruber was Section Runner up in the 100 Freestyle and qualified for state in that event. The 400 Free Relay team of Jasmine Fleischhacker, Bella Nathe, Paige Gruber, and Makayla Zirbes were also Section Runners up and advance to the State meet next weekend.
*Other Section Medal winners included Paige Gruber (3rd-200 Freestyle), Bella Nathe (6th-50 Free and 5th-500 Free), Theresia Nathe (6th-Diving), Makayla Zirbes (5th-100 Butterfly, 3rd-100 Backstroke), Jaiden Smith (7th-500 Free), Brooke Ruoff (6th-100 Backstroke), Georgia Anderson (8th-100 Backstroke), and the 200 Free Relay team of Alanna Wensmann, Meghan Pundsack, Jasmine Fleischhacker, Gracelyn Sakry that finished 7th.
