Our SC-M Defenders Boys Wrestling Team took 8th Place at the Maple Grove Invitational out of 11 teams. Top finishes include:
152- Noah Christen: 2nd Place
160- Rylan Pallow: 3rd Place
172- Ben Friedrichs: 3rd Place
107- Brock Friedrichs: 4th Place
215- Jonny Lara: 6th Place

Congratulations to our Defenders Girls Wrestling Team! These winners competed against 18 teams at the individual West Central Area Tournament on Friday, December 12th! Our team earned FIRST PLACE!

The Melrose Gymnasts brought energy, confidence & holiday fire to the Brainerd Holiday Invitational on Saturday, December 13th. It was cold outside, but inside we were FIRE! Our Dutchmen Varsity and JV Teams each took 1st Place - Varsity scored 142.75, and JV scored 96.35 (three scores counted at the JV meet). The team also won the 'Best Holiday Dressed' Award!
Way to go, Dutchmen!

Congratulations to the Boys Swimming and Diving Team on a 109-73 win over Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield! Congratulations to Andrue Stalboerger on setting a new School and Fusion record in Diving! For six dives, Andrue scored 261.55! What a great score!

Congratulations to our Melrose Gymnasts! Our team competed at the Perham Invite on Saturday, December 6th, and both teams brought energy and talent! Our JV finished with fourth place, with a score of 127.2. The Varsity also finished fourth, with a score of 141.55.
We are so proud of the hard work, determination, and teamwork these athletes show!

Blake Elliott, son of Marit and the late Dave Elliott, was an athlete at Melrose Area Public Schools before going on to play for St. John's University.
St. John's All-American wideout Blake Elliott '03 will take his place among college football's all-time greats when he is inducted into the sport's Hall of Fame today, December 9, 2025.
We are thinking of Blake and his family!

Congratulations to Rylan Pallow and Jonny Lara! Both these Defenders Boys Wrestlers won their 50th match on Saturday, December 6th at the Morris Invitational! The varsity boys placed 3rd as a team!
Noah Christenson took 1st!
Jonny Lara, Ben Fredrichs, Rylan Pallow & Teddy Wiechman took 2nd individually.
Brayden Britz, Luke Johnson, Alonso Martinez, and Brock Freidrichs took 3rd individually.
Camren Godez took 4th.
