It’s Sno Daze this week at MHS! Coronation festivities took place 3rd hour Monday, February 10th. Congratulations to Queen Camryn Brinkman and King Derek Welle!
Great day for Melrose Archery. Elementary girls’ division: Anika Berscheit took 1st, Avery Braegelmann, 2nd. Elementary boys Noah Zink - 4th and Elijah Zink, 6th. Middle school girls, Gretta Kapsner took 3rd and Camilla McCormick, 5th. Middle schooler Daniel Mueller, 6th. Ethan Sand took 6th in the high school division. Sophomore Christopher McChesney sang the national anthem. What a wonderful start to the season! Some random photos!
Melrose Speech Team finishes 2nd today at STMA, behind only West Minnetonka. There were 33 schools in attendance and over 600 student entries. Great job Melrose!
The 2020 Melrose Archery Tournament is underway! Good luck to everyone! No admission to come watch, so feel free to join us.
A great crew helped set up for our archery tournament. We are ready for tomorrow! To top it off, we had 2 perfect rounds tonight. Congrats to Ethan Sand and Avery Braegelmann. Go Dutchmen Archers!!

En este momento, Las Escuelas Públicas de Melrose Area estara buscando en un inicio temprano para el año escolar de 2020-2021. La razón por la que estamos buscando un inicio temprano para el año escolar 2020-2021 y los dos años siguientes son porque el Día Laboral esta tarde en la fecha de septiembre. Si no perseguimos un inicio temprano, los estudiantes estarán asistiendo la escuela hasta la segunda semana de junio.
Estaremos teniendo tres foros públicos para aceptar comentarios en esta iniciativa de inicio temprano. Las localizaciones, fechas y horas son las siguientes:
Jueves, 13 de febrero a las 7 p.m. en el Centro de Gobierno Freeport
Martes, 18 de febrero a la 1:30 p.m. en Greenwald Pub

Message on Early Start Calendars
At this time, Melrose Area Public Schools will be seeking an early start for the 2020- 2021 school year. The reason we are seeking the early start for the 2020 - 2021 school year and the following two years is because the late Labor Day date in September. If we did not pursue an early start, students would be attending school into the second week of June.
We will be having three public forums to accept feedback on this early start initiative. The locations, dates and times are as follows:
Thursday February 13 at 7 p.m. at the Freeport Government Center
Tuesday February 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Greenwald Pub
Tuesday February 25 at 7 p.m. at the Melrose Elementary Media Center
You are welcome to attend any one of the meetings that is convenient for you in regard to the date and time.
