Melrose Area Advanced Culinary Students experimented with the Maillard Reaction (similar to caramelization) this week as they made French Baguettes and French Onion Soup! Oh, the familiar sting from cutting onions! This meal was worth it!

We had a sprinkler malfunction in our secondary kitchen today (2/2/24). Elementary students are eating on time. Secondary students will eat one period later. No one was hurt. The school day will resume as normal.

The Melrose Dutchmen Archery Team hosted the first regional tournament of the season on Saturday, January 27. The tournament hosted over 300 students from 6 different central Minnesota Schools. Congratulations to Cami McCormick who earned 3rd place in the High School Girls Division with a score of 276. Also on the Leaderboard was Weston VanHavermaet in 6th place with a score of 279 and Sawyer Frieler in 9th place with a score of 278.
