This is the best word to describe Saturday, April 15. The Melrose Speech Team is the 2023 Section 5A championship team! We took 37 speakers to the tournament and 27 of them made it to the final round. Of those 27, SEVENTEEN made it into the top 3 and will advance to the state speech tournament on April 29th at Eastview High School in Apple Valley! Our coaching staff could not be more thrilled with each and every one of the speakers. Everyone competed so well and we are extremely proud of them. Itās unbelievable how this team has stepped up and worked so hard. Just when you think you canāt improve numbers from the previous year, these kiddos prove us wrong! Melrose had 8 champions out of 13 categories. Absolutely awesome!
