Sgt. Josh Hinz visited our FACS Labs today to teach Culinary 1 students about MRE's and nutrition in the field. MRE's are 'Meals Ready to Eat,' used by US military, in situations where food is not readily available. Sgt. Josh HInz and Mr. Cozatt challenged students to elevate the MRE's in the kitchen. Winners will receive Army National Guard shirts!

Melrose/Sauk Centre Fusion finished with their top State meet finish in program history, finishing in 11th place. Finals Results:
200 Medley Relay-Alex Wilwerding, Sevrin Anderson, Jacob Robischon, and Grant Eveslage finished 10th with a new school and Fusion record 1:38.92.
200 Freestyle: Thatcher Van Beck finished 16th with a 1:52.34
200 IM: Jacob Robischon finished 9th with a Sauk Centre school and Fusion record 2:00.76.
Diving: Andrue Stalboerger finished Third and earned All-State honors with a score of 393.10.
100 Butterfly: Sevrin Anderson 16th with a time of 56.23, Jacob Robischon 8th with a 54.01.
500 Freestyle: Thatcher Van Beck finished 11th with a time of 4:59.41.
100 Backstroke: Alex Wilwerding finished 11th with a time of 56.08.
100 Breaststroke: Sevrin Anderson finished 14th with a time of 1:01.35 which set a Sauk Centre school record.
400 Free Relay of Jacob Robischon, Thatcher Van Beck, Alex Wilwerding and Grant Eveslage took 12th with a time of 3:21.78.

Tomorrow morning, 2/29/24, the Melrose PD, Melrose FD, Melrose Area Ambulance, Freeport FD, and New Munich FD will escort our Fusion Swim Team through town at 7:45am, and our Defenders Wrestling Team through town at 8:30am. The Wrestling Fan Bus is ready to roll! The fan bus leaves Melrose on Friday, March 1 at 8:15am and will return after our wrestlers are done that day. This fan bus is open to all. Students in grades 7-12, please turn in your permission form and $11 - the cost of your ticket to Audrey by 3pm on 2/28/24. Other Community Members who would like to ride the bus should reach out to Mr. Ruoff or Mr. Bergman, depending on the district you live in.
