Melrose Stages welcomes adults and students ages 16+ to audition for 'The Addams Family,' tonight at 7pm. The role of Pugsley will be cast to ages 10+. Please prepare 16-32 bars of music in the style of the show. An accompanist will be available. Due to the EMS drill in the auditorium lobby, please enter door 9 for this event.


There is a scheduled Fire Department Drill in the Melrose Area School building this evening, from 5:30-9pm. Local EMS will be using the pool and auditorium lobby area for this drill. Please use door 7 to enter the building for the School Board Meeting at 6:30pm (open forum at 5:30pm). Please use door 9 to enter the building for Musical Tryouts at 7pm.

Melrose Area Elementary Students were excited to see Freddie, a therapy dog, today. Freddie brought along his brother, Bennie, who is in training to be a therapy dog! What good dogs they are! Thank you, Freddie and Bennie! We hope to see you again next year!

What a great day for Tractor Day! The Melrose FFA is hosting a petting zoo in tandem with Tractor Day. Students and staff are excited to see the animals & tractors during their day of learning!







A Plant Exchange will be held at the Melrose City Center Parking Lot from 9-11am on Saturday, May 18, 2024. This is a great way to share perennial plants! To take plants at the exchange, you do not need to bring one, as there are always plenty.

Congratulations to the Melrose Speech Team as they represented our school, town and state very well at the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC) in Nebraska. There were thousands of speakers who earned the opportunity to compete against the best in the nation. *Andrew Traeger and *Autumn Oevermann made it to octofinals, which narrowed down the competition to 60 speakers in the category. Andrew also made it to Octofinals in Program Oral Interpretation (POI). *Teague Dusha made it to quarterfinals (top 24) in Impromptu. *Amelia Brower made it to the national finals, placing 6th in Informative! *Drew Pundsack (with a brand-new speech he had never performed for an audience before) also advanced to national finals, placing 3rd in Humorous! Melrose took 7th place as a team! We are so excited for this team and all they have accomplished! #DutchmenPride

The elementary students were fortunate to get to listen to Minnesota Author Kevin Lovegreen. He spoke to the students about his inspiration on becoming an author, how to write a book, and played "Guess the Animal Call" with the kids!
