Melrose Area High School Students had lots of smiles during our tornado drill! Tornados are natural events, and can happen quickly. For this drill, students were moved to spaces without windows, and practiced the 'tuck' position. #DutchmenPride

Today is Tornado Drill Day. For decades, the State of Minnesota has conducted Severe Weather Awareness Week in partnership with the National Weather Service and local governments. A statewide tornado drill is part of that event. Please talk to your families about safe practices in case of a tornado.


Brandon Welle, a well-liked teacher at Melrose Area Public Schools, helped with a good cause yesterday! As a fundraiser for Food For Thought, Mr. Welle 'won' a pie in the face. Wow! That was quite the sight! Thanks for being a good sport, Mr. Welle! #DutchmenPride



Melrose Area Middle and High Schools celebrated the Knowledge Bowl Team today at our Pep Fest! Our Knowledge Bowl Team will be attending a banquet, as well as competing in written and oral rounds. Melrose Area Elementary School is proud to recognize the 5th Grade for their L.E.A.D. Graduation, which was held March 22, 2024. L.E.A.D. stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs, and is a national program, dedicated to creating safer, healthier communities, free of drugs, bullying and violence. Led by School Resource Officer, Paul Breth, 5th Grade Classes earned their certificates of completion. Additionally, students were able to showcase their talents, singing and playing their recorders under leadership of Tara Prout.
