Today is Tornado Drill Day. For decades, the State of Minnesota has conducted Severe Weather Awareness Week in partnership with the National Weather Service and local governments. A statewide tornado drill is part of that event. Please talk to your families about safe practices in case of a tornado.

Melrose Area Elementary School is proud to recognize the 5th Grade for their L.E.A.D. Graduation, which was held March 22, 2024. L.E.A.D. stands for Law Enforcement Against Drugs, and is a national program, dedicated to creating safer, healthier communities, free of drugs, bullying and violence. Led by School Resource Officer, Paul Breth, 5th Grade Classes earned their certificates of completion. Additionally, students were able to showcase their talents, singing and playing their recorders under leadership of Tara Prout.
