Melrose Area Students were able to celebrate Winter Activities at a Pep Fest today! Isaac Frericks, State Wrestling Participant, was honored for his achievements. The Fusion Swimming and Diving Team was also praised for their accolades! Our Fusion Team was named Section Team Runner Up at last week's meet. Congratulations to Defenders Wrestlers Isaac Frericks and Afton Vogt, who represented Sauk Centre- Melrose Schools at the State Tournament! On Friday, Isaac Frericks won his opening match by a fall. In the quarterfinals, Frericks lost 12-8. In the wrestle backs, Frericks won 1-0. On Saturday, Isaac Frericks lost his match by a fall at 4:31. At the girls State wrestling tournament, Defenders freshman Afton Vogt wrestled Saturday, and lost her opening match 9-3. Vogt won her next match by a fall at 3:17. Afton Vogt took 5th place at State, winning her last match by a fall at 2:35. We are so proud of these students!
Trap Team will be hosting an Open House Meeting tonight! Students in grades 8-12 who are interested should join us in the HS Cafe tonight from 5:30-7pm. New members should allow 30 minutes, while returning members can allow 15 minutes. All students must have a Firearm Safety Certificate.
