Congratulations to Hallie Drossel, who has been nominated by the Minnesota High School Swimming and Diving Coaches' Association for Minnesota Class A Girls Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Year. Melrose Head Coach Nathan Meyer was also nominated for Minnesota Class A Girls Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year. The award winners will be announced on Friday, April 28th at the Swimming and Diving All-State Banquet.

All students in grades 7-12 are invited to join our Spring Activities. Junior High Track begins on April 3, 2023. Junior High Softball, Baseball and Boys Golf practice begins on April 11, 2023.

Due to mechanical issues on a bus, we had to hold some of our buses. Some of our buses may be up to 45 minutes late. The buses involved will be leaving the school parking lot by 3:30 pm. Due to weather, the Defensive Driving Class for tonight has been rescheduled to next Thursday. The Elem. Competitive Swim Meet has been rescheduled & will take place tomorrow at 6pm. There will not be Archery practice tonight.

If your student has never been to a professional soccer game... there is a great opportunity to go watch the Loons (MN United FC) game in St. Paul on March 25th! If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Cecilia Montanez Rodriguez or have your child sign up on the sign up sheet located in Jodi and Shannon's office. The cost is $45, which includes the ticket and transportation. Students in grades 9-12 can go on their own, any student younger than that will require a parent to tag along with them. ⚽️

Melrose won the Region 7A Knowledge Bowl meet today at SCSU. Melrose will advance to the state meet at Cragun’s in April. Congratulations to the Melrose Knowledge Bowl teams who competed at Subsections on March 10. Melrose Varsity 1 are Subsection Champs and Melrose Varsity 2 finished fourth. Both teams advance to the Region 7 Section meet on Monday, March 13. Go Dutchmen!

The annual Melrose Area Schools Blood Drive will be conducted on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the High School Gym. It is sponsored by the Melrose chapter of the National Honor Society and is administered by the American Red Cross. If you are at least 16 years old and a student at Melrose Area High School, sign up next Wednesday or Thursday during 1st or 3rd lunch at the designated table in the cafeteria. All donors will receive a $10 prepaid gift card. Community members who would like to donate, please come to the school on March 31 anytime between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Don't forget your ID.
